Around 800,000 Berliners volunteer - that's almost one in three people in the city. Whether in a sports club, helping neighbors or working on an environmental project: without this commitment, Berlin would not be the vibrant, diverse and supportive city it is today. The Berlin-Brandenburg Volunteer Card is a visible way of recognizing this commitment.
What is the volunteer card?
The volunteer card is a joint offer from the states of Berlin and Brandenburg. It is aimed at people who are particularly committed to volunteering - without payment and with a lot of time and passion. The card offers discounts at over 250 partners, including museums, leisure facilities, cinemas and local stores.
New: The volunteer card is now also available digitally
The volunteer card has also been available as an app since 2025. The pilot has already started in Brandenburg. With the app, volunteers can conveniently use their volunteer card on their smartphone or tablet. Applying for and renewing the card will also be easier. As before, the card is valid across the states of Berlin and Brandenburg.
